David Gold, CEO With more than 30 years of institutional experience owning, financing and investing in domestic and international real estate, Mr. Gold has built expertise across functional areas to lead Inspire Communities. He came to Inspire Communities from three years as co-founder and president of Rockland Capital, a multi-family office real estate investment company focused on multi-family investment. Before that, he was for 14 years a partner and Managing Director at Paladin Realty Partners, an institutional real estate private equity fund making controlling equity investments in joint ventures with developers, primarily of residential projects, in the United States and Latin America. Before that he was a senior manager at international development and construction company Obayashi Corporation. He started his career in mergers and acquisitions and real estate investment banking at Morgan Stanley & Co. and Salomon Brothers. He was graduated from Brown University and Harvard Business School.
Jonathan Harrison, Senior Vice President Mr. Harrison is in acquisitions and has been at Inspire Communities since its inception in 2012. Prior to that, he worked at FollettUSA, which was one of the predecessor companies of Inspire Communities, after relocating from La Jolla to Sacramento in 2011. From 1995 to 2011, Mr. Harrison was a Vice President Investments for Marcus & Millichap in the San Diego and Tucson offices, specializing in the brokerage of manufactured housing communities nationwide. Before joining Marcus & Millichap, Mr. Harrison was an independent broker in Phoenix for eight years specializing in the brokerage of manufactured home communities throughout Arizona. He holds real estate licenses in both Arizona and California. He graduated from Principia College in Elsah, Illinois with a B.A. in history.
Timothy Strack, Director of Property Management Mr. Strack has more than 30 years’ experience owning and operating manufactured housing communities. Mr. Strack joined Inspire Communities after 10 years at Hometown America, one of the country’s largest owners of manufactured housing communities. At Hometown America he was Western Division President, overseeing more than 35 MHC comprising approximately 10,000 sites in nine states. Before that, he was for three years Assistant Vice President of Equity Lifestyle Properties, the country’s largest owner of manufactured housing communities. At ELS, Mr. Strack oversaw 16 MHC in Arizona and California. Mr. Strack has also served as a real estate receiver and has owned and operated a portfolio of manufactured homes. He is a Certified Property Manager and licensed real estate broker in Arizona and was graduated from New Mexico State University.
Brea Buller, Controller Ms. Buller has more than 15 years of real estate operating company accounting experience. Before joining Inspire Communities, she was Assistant Controller for Britannia Pacific Properties for eight years. At Inspire Communities, she supervises a team of five accountants in all aspects of financial reporting, including the annual preparation of the company’s audited financial statements. Ms. Buller was graduated from Pacific Union College and is a CPA.
Alicia Owen, Regional Manager Ms. Owen supervises the property management operations for nine MHC in Arizona, California, Nevada, Utah, and Colorado. Before joining Inspire in 2012, Ms. Owen was a Regional Vice-President for sales and operations for American Land Lease and Green Courte Partners, both leading owners of MHC nationwide. Ms. Owen oversaw a portfolio of age-restricted and family communities in Arizona with approximately 2,000 sites. Before specializing in MHC, Ms. Owen was an Area Manager for commercial parking facilities in Chicago, responsible for five large facilities. Ms. Owen received a B.A. from North Central College.
John Bertakis, Vice President, New Homes Mr. Bertakis converts the company’s vacant home sites into revenue-producing sites by purchasing and renting new manufactured homes. Mr. Bertakis began his career at Touche Ross and then joined his family MHC development company, becoming President. At Bertakis Development Company he managed seven MHC with more than 1,700 sites. Bertakis Development Company was one of the predecessor companies to Inspire Communities. Mr. Bertakis was graduated from Wayne State University with a B.S. degree.
Vicki Harris, Regional Manager Ms. Harris supervises the property management operations for ten manufactured housing communities and RV resorts, in a broad territory that spans from Florida to South Dakota. Ms. Harris is a manufactured housing industry veteran, having held regional manager positions at American Manufactured Community REIT, Hometown America, Chateau Communities, CWS Communities REIT/Security Capital Group and CWS Communities. She has overseen operations and sales of more than 50 age qualifying and family communities in 12 states.
Ms. Harris attended St. Edwards University in Austin, Texas, served as a CPM candidate for several years and has over 30 years-experience operating Manufactured Housing Communities.
Michael Bertakis, Vice President of Construction Mr. Bertakis is a manufactured housing development expert manages Inspire Communities’ major construction projects across its portfolio. In addition to significant capital expenditure projects, Mr. Bertakis has a leading role in the company’s ground-up development and expansion projects. Early in his career, he was a partner in a manufacturer of construction and masonry products. He was a principal in Bertakis Development, Inc., a developer of manufactured housing communities and a predecessor to Inspire Communities. At Bertakis Development, he designed and constructed manufactured housing communities in Michigan and Texas.
Mr. Bertakis received an Associate’s degree in Tool and Die Engineering from Macomb College and a BBA from Lawrence Institute of Technology.
Ron Eleczko, Regional Manager Mr. Eleczko is a veteran operator of manufactured housing communities, with 23 years of industry experience. With Inspire Communities since 2012, Mr. Eleczko is responsible for the company’s communities in Michigan and Illinois and South Dakota. Prior to Inspire Communities, he was a Regional Manager and Controller of Bertakis Development Company for more than a decade, with a focus on Michigan communities. Mr. Eleczko earned a Bachelor’s degree in accounting from Michigan State University.
Mindy Parish, Associate Director of Property Management
Mindy Parish has 22 years’ experience in the manufactured housing industry and proven abilities in increasing revenue and occupancy, decreasing delinquencies, building highly motivated teams that can meet and exceed financial targets and finding effective ways to improve and automate day to day processes. Prior to coming to Inspire Communities, Mrs. Parish was with Hometown America for 15 years where she was a Regional Manager who managed the day-to-day operations for up to 22 manufactured home communities in California and Arizona. Mrs. Parish spent 9 years prior with Equity Lifestyle Properties where she moved up from a book keeper at one of the communities to working in the Western Regional office and handled lease administration and sales/escrow transactions for the 30+ communities in the Western US.
